Ludwig stepped out his door, locking it behind him, wearing his military pants and black tank. He was going to a run today, as he always does. Walking down the steps, he looked around making sure it wasn’t a busy day for those who walked to work. Nodding to himself, he started off down the pavement and focused only on his running.
A ring startled him and he almost fell as he fumbled to answer it. “Hallo?”
“Hahaha, brother, you have to come here.” An obnoxious familiar voice shouted over the phone and he sighed. “I’m at the park, seriously, come here.”
He rolled his eyes and pressed the end button. The park was only a couple blocks away; in the direction he was headed to be exact. Whatever Gilbert had planned to show him, he hoped it wasn’t something reckless or stupid.
Arriving at the park, he spotted his brother crouching down in front of a dog. It wagged it’s tail, holding a paw up. Gilbert’s laugh echoed as he took the animals paw and shook it. Questioning what he was witnessing, Ludwig stepped over and examined the creature. “Oh Ludwig, you’re here. I found this lovely girl here. She looks so alone, can I keep her?”
Rolling his eyes, the blond crouched down as well, reaching out and petting her head. “She is quite cute. But you don’t know how to take care of something so simple.”
“Then you keep her.” Gilbert nudged his shoulder with his own. He took hold of a single tag around her collar. “Her name is _____. Isn’t that cute? Don’t you think it suits her?” He kept going on, laughing and petting the animals fur. She seemed to like it, but her (e/c) eyes always went back to him. Strange, a canine having such human-like eyes.
Groaning, he nodded as he stood back up. “Fine, I’ll take her. But it’s only going to be for a bit, while you look for the owner.” He continued for Gilbert had a chance to complain about it. “You got us into this mess. Every day, you are going to do out for two hours in search for the owner. I’m serious.”
In a very dramatic fit, Gilbert stormed off after patting the dog’s head. (Name) followed beside obediently and didn’t put up a fight. Almost like she was willing to go home with him. He chuckled at the oddity of the animal as she walked her way at his side. When she got inside his home, she just sat down on the floor, looking at him. Tilting his head, Ludwig scratched his chin and watched her. Yet she just sat there, being quiet and motionless.
Yawning, she stood and bowed, pushing her front legs out to stretch her back. A swish of her tail and flicker of her ears, she carefully made her way to his room, where she jumped up onto the bed and curled up into the comforter. Sighing, he got ready for bed himself, doing what he normally did; shower, brush his teeth, the usual.
“_____,” Ludwig sighed as he crawled under the covers. “I shouldn’t allow you to sleep here.” She looked over at him, and he chuckled. “But I guess it won’t be a problem.” She seemed to smile and rolled over, her back against his thigh. He began petting her head as he drifted to sleep, smiling to himself.
In the morning, he opened his eyes, yawning. An arm was sprawled over him and he jumped, looking down at a naked girl. Face burning, he grabbed her hand to move when a chain around her wrist caught his attention. On it, it read, ‘_____’.
He shook the girl awake, wanting to make sure of something. “_____! Wake up!”
(Name) opened her eyes and sat up, looking down at her hands. “Oh thank goodness! I’m back!” She grinned and tackled Ludwig, wrapping her arms around his neck. His eyes grew wide and he was afraid to touch her, since she wasn’t wearing anything. “Thank you Ludwig!”
“What am I going to do with you now?” Ludwig sighed and played with a lock of her beautiful (h/c) hair. She shrugged and smiled, an invisible tail wagging behind her. “I guess I’ll have to keep you then.”
